Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 July 2026
The short version
The numbers you type into our calculators never leave your device. Every calculation runs in your browser. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell data to anyone.
1. Who we are
This policy explains how EMI Calculation (“we”, “us”) handles personal data when you visit https://www.emicalculation.io.
[PLACEHOLDER] — complete before publishing
Insert your legal entity name, registered business address, and (if you are subject to the GDPR and required to appoint one) your Data Protection Officer or EU/UK representative and their contact details. Regulators expect a real, identifiable controller here.
2. What we do not collect
Because our calculators run client-side, the following never reaches our servers:
- Loan amounts, incomes, property values, interest rates, or any other figure you enter
- Calculation results, amortisation schedules, or comparisons you generate
- Your name, address, phone number, or date of birth — we never ask for them
- Any bank, card, or account details — we have no payment system and never will
If you refresh the page, your inputs are gone. We keep no copy because we never received one.
3. What we do collect
3.1 Information you send us voluntarily
If you email [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in the message. We use it only to reply and to fix whatever you reported. We keep correspondence only as long as needed for that purpose.
3.2 Technical information collected automatically
Like nearly every website, our hosting provider records standard server logs when a page is requested: IP address, browser user-agent, the page requested, referring page, and a timestamp. These are used for security, abuse prevention, and diagnosing errors.
3.3 Analytics
[PLACEHOLDER] — describe your actual analytics setup
State which analytics tool you use (for example Google Analytics 4, Plausible, Fathom, or none at all), whether IP addresses are anonymised, the retention period, and where the data is processed. If you use Google Analytics you must also disclose the transfer of data to Google and link to Google's own privacy terms. If you run no analytics at all, say so plainly — it is a genuine selling point.
4. Cookies
We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles. Any cookies set fall into these categories:
Strictly necessary
Required for the site to function and to keep it secure. These cannot be switched off.
Analytics
Used only to count visits and understand which calculators are useful. Set only where lawful, and only in aggregate.
[PLACEHOLDER] — cookie table and consent banner
List each cookie you actually set, its purpose, and its lifetime. If you serve visitors in the EU, the UK, or a jurisdiction with equivalent rules, non-essential cookies require prior consent and you must implement a consent banner. At the time of writing this site does not display one.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. The calculators will keep working.
5. Third parties
We load the Inter typeface from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those files, Google receives your IP address and user-agent, as it does for any resource served from its network. Google's handling of that request is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not embed advertising networks, social media trackers, session recorders, or heat-mapping tools. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We have no financial relationship with any lender featured or referenced on this site.
6. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following bases:
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Serving the website securely | Server logs | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Replying to your email | Email address, message | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Understanding site usage | Analytics data | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) |
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time.
Under the GDPR (EEA/UK) you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. Under the CCPA/CPRA (California) you have the right to know what is collected, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” — we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, and we do not discriminate against anyone who exercises a privacy right.
To exercise any right, email [email protected]. In practice, because we hold so little, most requests are answered in a single reply.
8. Data retention and security
Server logs are retained for a limited period by our hosting provider and then rotated. Email correspondence is kept only while it is useful for support. We use HTTPS across the whole site.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. What we can do is minimise the target: the most sensitive thing you do here — entering your financial figures — never reaches us in the first place.
9. Children
This site is intended for adults making financial decisions. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
[PLACEHOLDER] — state where your data is processed
Name the country your hosting provider and analytics provider operate in. If personal data leaves the EEA or UK, identify the transfer mechanism you rely on (adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses, or another safeguard).
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes or the law does. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
12. Contact
Questions about this policy or how we handle data: [email protected].
Not legal advice
This policy was drafted as a practical, good-faith starting point that reflects how the site actually works. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Before publishing, have it checked against the laws that apply to your business and your visitors.
